13 MUST FOLLOW SAP TWEETERS IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

SAP related content is thriving on Twitter, thanks to a growing user base of 2.7 million in Australia (July 2015) and buzzing community of SAP experts and enthusiasts. To help you keep up-to-date with the latest SAP developments such as S/4 HANA and to find some of the best inside knowledge, follow these 13 top SAP tweeters in Australia and New Zealand.

Paul Hawking

Well, this is not the first time he makes a “Top-Something-List”. He was voted three times as one of the Top Ten Most Influential People in SAP for Australia and New Zealand by the SAP community. He is author, Associate Professor in Information Systems at Victoria University Australia and of course SAP Mentor. He tweets about the successes of his students as well as about conferences on which you will see him speak sometimes. Welcome to our list!

Chris Paine

Chris is SAP Mentor, based in Melbourne since more than 15 years and specialises in SAP HR. Although an Englishman by birth, we are allowing him on to this list because of his dual nationality. And of course because of his in-depth IT experience. Read his blog www.wombling.com to find out why he called himself “Wombling” and why his profile picture shows him as a pirate. Definitely one, that doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Alexandra Carvalho

Although on her Twitter profile she states to live in Palo Alto, CA, she is a Senior Director and Head of Analytics at BI Group Australia in Melbourne. As an Entrepreneur and SAP Mentor she names herself a ‘Glass Ceiling Cracker’. She writes about Big Data and the Internet of Things but there will also be that occasionally tweet about her dogs.

Simon Kemp

Simon is National Lead - SAP User eXperience at PLAUT Australia and another SAP Mentor on this list. Having worked in the SAP space since nearly two decades, starting as a ABAP developer he now works with customers to make SAP easier to use. Well, if that doesn’t deserve being named here.

Andrew Barkla

To receive the latest news from the SAP boardroom, start following the President and Managing Director at SAP ANZ Andrew Barkla. He is responsible for all SAP's business operations across Australia and New Zealand. If he gets more Followers, maybe he will even start to tweet more ...

Martin English

When it comes to being on Twitter the longest AND having the most Followers, he takes first place on this list. Joined in 2008 with now more than 3400 Followers, Martin is a SAP BASIS/ Technology Consultant living in Wollongong. He is working for Rimini Street, who apparently do not necessarily agree with, let alone endorse, anything he says. When following him you will also stay up to date with The SAP Mentors Daily.

Patrick Saundry

Patrick Saundry is the General Manager of Small and Medium Enterprise Markets for Oxygen. On his twitter feed you can find great insight in the future of SAP globally and Australia & NZ. He also supports start-ups in tech and shares his views on sport.

Jocelyn Dart

Although billing herself as an exotic ice cream specialist and sourdough bread maker, Jocelyn Dart shares some fantastic content on multiple SAP topics, you can also find links to her brilliant blogs too. Chris Rae

If you are looking for someone with experience in the SAP retail sector, look no more. He has developed online and in-store team member environments, Click and Collect, and so on. The Brisbane based SAP Mentor is also a proud dad as his daughter Bella (13) is already a ‘Next Generation Developer’.

Colleen Hebbert

She specializes in SAP Security and GRC as an independent Consultant and does not like the flights between her home in Brisbane and her office in Perth however she is very passionate about SAP which made her SAP Mentor in 2014. Security and Mobility are also two favourite topics of this SCN Moderator and Certified SAP GRC 10.0 Consultant. Her tweets are rather funny with this being our favourite one:

Gary Hooker

This SAP all-rounder based in Canberra has worked in many Public Sector agencies. He is a true Business Intelligence expert with more than 18 years of experience. Moreover he has founded the BI Special Interest Group and was its leader for three years. No need to mention that he is also a SAP Mentor. His advice: Enjoy your BI journey because it never ends!

John Patterson

Although his profile picture might put you off a little bit, he is definitely one to follow as he is a very active tweeter. He calls himself a relentless sharer (editor’s note: he does retweet a lot!), passionate learner, pragmatic developer and tragic golfer. He specializes in integrating SAP people, process and technology. Software development is his passion and his first PC was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum.

Josh Fletcher

And last but not least, we have Josh Fletcher. The SAP Mentor from Perth calls himself a ‘wannabe photographer’. What he can definitely call himself is a leader in the SAP tweeting space with more than 3000 Followers, making him the second most followed Australian SAP Tweeter. On top of that he is fully certified in SAP BusinessObjects and author at http://dslayer.net/.
