SAP Developer

Sapture is partnering with a Melbourne based client to find a highly capable SAP ABAP & Fiori Developer who thrives in a HR or SuccessFactors, fast moving, hands on environment. This role suits someone who takes real ownership, enjoys solving problems end-to-end, and is trusted by customers to represent the technical solution.
This is not a single project, “easy path” role. You’ll be balancing support, projects, and urgent production issues, often at the same time.

The Ideal Candidate You are someone who:
  • Has a strong can-do attitude
  • Is very diligent and detail-focused
  • Always puts the customer first
  • Is highly experienced and trusted to speak directly with customers in meetings
  • Takes a “leave it with me” approach and owns issues end-to-end
  • Is accountable, does proper unit testing and avoids creating downstream issues
  • Makes everyone’s life easier, not harder
  • Has been with organisations long enough to know systems inside out
  • Has experience delivering Fiori development across multiple customers
Role Requirements Must-Have Technical Skills
  • ABAP development (mandatory)
  • Fiori development (mandatory)
  • Integration experience (mandatory – heavy integration focus)
  • HR / Payroll knowledge (core business domain)
  • Strong SAP background
    • Ideally 10+ years for senior candidates
    • 5–7 years for mid-level candidates
Nice to Have
  • Experience with SuccessFactors
  • Health or Public Sector experience
Work Environment
This role is suited to someone who:
  • Can wear multiple hats in a small to medium-sized organisation
  • Is comfortable with constant context switching (support tickets, projects, urgent production issues, pre-sales)
  • Works in a shared resource model across support and projects
  • Understands this is not a corporate role focused on one narrow task
  • Prefers hands-on responsibility over rigid structure
Work Type
  • 70%+ support work (Application Managed Services / AMS tickets)
  • Project work when available
  • Must be able to handle support and projects simultaneously
Role Details
  • Location: Melbourne
  • Work Arrangement: 3 days per week in the office (any 3 days – flexible)
  • Employment Type: Permanent (not contract)
If you’re a SAP developer who takes pride in ownership, accountability, and making things work properly the first time, this role will feel like home.
