This isn’t one of them.
We’re partnering with a Melbourne-based manufacturer looking for a hands-on SAP Consultant to step into a live environment, bring structure to complexity, and help the business realise real value from its SAP landscape.
This role is for someone who thrives in the “messy middle” / not the polished transformation narrative, but the reality on the ground.
The system is live.
The business is feeling the strain.
Users are frustrated.
And Excel is still doing far too much of the heavy lifting.
They need someone who can get close to the operation — across the CBD and on-site in Lilydale — to drive adoption, improve processes, and rebuild confidence in SAP.
What you’ll be doing
- Partnering with business leads, key users, and operational teams across CBD, Lilydale, and remotely
- Documenting SAP-enabled processes in a way that is practical and actually used
- Uplifting key user capability and rebuilding internal support structures
- Identifying process gaps and delivering pragmatic improvements
- Supporting issue resolution and collaborating with global teams where needed
- Running workshops, coaching sessions, and providing hands-on support
- Acting as the bridge between operations and SAP
- Strong SAP ECC experience (ERP 6.0 / EHP8 preferred)
- Background in supply chain / manufacturing (PP, MM, SD, WM/EWM, with some FI/CO exposure)
- Experience in post-go-live stabilisation, training, or process improvement
- Someone confident working on-site in a manufacturing environment and building trust quickly
- A consultant who is practical, proactive, and comfortable navigating ambiguity
You’ll need to be visible, on-site, and embedded in the business - particularly in Lilydale - working directly with the people who use (or avoid) the system every day.
The setup
- Melbourne-based contract
- Split between CBD office and Lilydale manufacturing site
- Flexible working, with a strong on-site presence required
- Initial contract with likely extension
- Immediate start preferred
